Job Title: Slack Software Engineer
Location: 100% Remote (PST preferred)
Duration: 6-month to 1-year contract
Pay Rate: $66.67/hr to $80/hr
Work Authorization: Open to U.S.-based candidates
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Slack Engineer to design, implement, and maintain innovative Slack integrations and workflows that enhance productivity and communication. This position focuses on managing Slack workspaces, developing custom applications, and integrating Slack with existing systems to optimize organizational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Slack administration, automation, and app development, along with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to fostering seamless communication across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Slack Administration:
Manage and maintain Slack workspaces, including user provisioning, security settings, and channel architecture.
Monitor and ensure platform health, performance, and compliance with company policies.
Workflow Automation:
Design and implement Slack workflows to automate repetitive tasks and enhance team productivity.
Develop and maintain integrations with third-party tools and APIs to streamline operations.
Custom App Development:
Build, deploy, and support custom Slack apps tailored to specific organizational needs.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing apps and integrations.
Collaboration and Training:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and create efficient solutions.
Train and support end-users in using Slack tools and workflows effectively.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain up-to-date documentation on Slack configurations, workflows, and best practices.
Generate reports on Slack usage, performance, and system metrics to support decision-making.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in Slack administration and custom app development.
Expertise in designing and implementing Slack workflows and automation tools.
Strong knowledge of APIs and integration platforms.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Node.js for app development.
Experience with managing Slack security settings and compliance.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across time zones.
