The Role We Want You For

Clayco is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Designer with expertise in developing electrical installation drawings and control panel layouts for a variety of industries. This role includes collaborating with lead engineers to review project requirements, creating power distribution and instrumentation/control designs, and producing professional deliverables such as one-line diagrams, OT Network Architecture diagrams, and classification plans. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, along with a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, are essential. The ideal candidate will bring at least 2 years of experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment.

The Specifics of the Role

  • Develop and prepare detailed electrical installation drawings.
  • Consult with lead engineers and review project design requirements.
  • Develop conceptual or detailed electrical designs in power distribution, low voltage systems, instrumentation and controls for a variety of industries.
  • Develop control panel drawings consisting of PLC panel layouts and I/O schematics.
  • Electrical design deliverables include electrical one lines, power plans, OT Network Architecture diagrams, and area classification plans.
  • Develop Revit and AutoCAD 3D & 2D models.
  • Apply basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code to design projects.
  • Analyze mechanical and process designs by reviewing P&IDs & general arrangement drawings.
  • Produce professional quality drawings that will be issued to clients for permitting and construction.

Requirements

  • Associates or technical degree
  • 2+ years of applicable experience.
  • Basic knowledge of National Electrical Code and Building Codes
  • Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Basic knowledge of the Electrical Construction industry.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Products including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
