Job Description

We are seeking highly driven Propulsion Engineers to lead the design, integration, and testing of a LOX-based propulsion system for our first reusable rocket prototype. This role is critical in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient engine performance for vertical takeoff, hover, and precision landing operations.

Responsibilities

• Combustion Optimization – Design and test injectors, cooling systems, and chamber geometries for stable and efficient burns.
• Fuel System Design – Develop the propellant flow system, including tanks, valves, and pressure regulation components.
• Static Fire Testing – Design and oversee engine test stand operations to validate thrust, performance, and reusability.
• Failure Analysis & Rapid Iteration – Troubleshoot combustion instability, injector malfunctions, and thermal stress failures.
• Collaboration with Structural & Avionics Teams – Ensure seamless integration of propulsion with thrust vector control (TVC) and vehicle guidance systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with liquid rocket engines (preferably LOX-based).
• Deep knowledge of rocket combustion dynamics, injector design, and regenerative cooling.
• Experience with high-pressure fluid systems and propellant handling.
• Proficiency in propulsion system modeling & simulation tools (ANSYS, MATLAB, OpenFOAM, or equivalent).
• Experience designing and executing static fire tests with safety and performance validation in mind.

Preferred

• Experience working on reusable rocket systems.
• Knowledge of thrust vector control (TVC), gimbal designs, and active stabilization techniques.
• Background in startup rocketry projects, university propulsion teams, or hands-on liquid engine development.
