At Wilen, we work as one integrated team, delivering seamless data-driven, innovative direct marketing campaigns from concept through execution with a primary focus on Direct Mail and Digital.

We’re currently seeking a full-time, on-site experienced Proofreader/Quality Assurance Specialist. In this position, you will be responsible for accurately proofreading marketing campaigns including spelling, grammar, style, tone and consistency as well as typographical errors, such as basic formatting and layout inconsistencies.

Responsibilities

• Proofread advertising and marketing collateral content for accuracy, spelling, grammar, punctuation and consistency
• Verify all legal and variable information is present and correct, including codes, phone numbers, offers, pricing, offer disclaimers and expiration dates
• Reference client style guides for proper branding and messaging
• Provide quality assurance checks, utilizing reference materials to verify accuracy of information.
• Review copy to ensure it preserves the essence of each idea/message in each language—for English only and English/Spanish proofreading.
• Perform a quality check at each phase of the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in English, Spanish and/or Journalism
• 5+ years of professional proofreading experience in proofreading variable content from print, PDF, content-based grids, matrix tables and data tables
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently within strict production schedule deadlines
• Excellent working knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style guide and experience using professional proofreader marks
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Experience with Proof HQ (Workfront) digital proofing, a plus
• Ability to proofread in Spanish, a plus

For New York, the expected hourly range for this position is between $24.00 and $27.00 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.
