K&S Law Group, P.C. is a boutique employment and tax law firm located in Newport Beach. We are seeking a motivated, smart, friendly Legal Assistant to join its fast-paced employment and tax law practice. You will report directly to one of our paralegals, and don’t worry—training will be provided to help you succeed! You will also get a chance to work directly with the managing attorney on cases.

Our firm primarily handles plaintiff’s side employment litigation, employment discrimination, wage and hour litigation, and tax law representation before the California of federal authorities.

Job Requirements/Duties:

  • Intake potential new clients, gathering necessary information for an initial consultation
  • Manage case register of action and dockets for approximately 24 active litigation cases
  • Calendar and track deadlines for responses via Clio management and Google Calendar
  • Serve and file documents in state and district courts using OneLegal and PACER
  • Prepare judicial forms, including CM-100 (Case Management Statements), SUM-100 (Summons), and other required documents
  • Under attorney supervision, preparing the Right to Sue letters and file them with respective administrative agencies
  • Draft discovery responses and requests
  • Prepare Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities in Motion Practice
  • Schedule appointments, hearings, and depositions, ensuring all parties are informed and prepared / Schedule depositions and hearings (calling calendar clerks to reserve hearing dates, etc.)
  • Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate individual within the Firm
  • Attending to the payment of third-party invoices, tracking payments, and maintaining records of such payments
  • Maintain clients’ records by reviewing case notes, and monitoring progress
  • Court filing for complaint, subpoena, proof of service
  • Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, and mailing as needed
  • Proof-reading documents
  • Following up on court filings
  • Assisting with calls and customer service
  • Speaking with and updating current clients about their case status
  • Accounts receivable/ Accounts payable
  • Generating invoices
  • Assisting with general office administrative tasks (e.g. ordering supplies, running errands, bank deposits and greeting clients)
  • Software Knowledge: Adobe Acrobat (knowing how to bookmark exhibits is a plus), Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Clio, and Westlaw.

Compensation depends on experience: $21.00 - $25.00.The hours are generally 9:30 am to 6:30 pm with flexibility to arrange earlier or later shifts.
