HOUSEKEEPING/LAUNDRY AIDE – Generations at Oakton Pavillion, Des Plaines, Illinois

Generations at Oakton Pavillion in Des Plaines, Illinois, Seeks a Full Time Housekeeping/Laundry Aide for the Day Shift, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Weekend Availability is a Must

Starting wage is $15/hour, Plus Full Benefits. Will Train.

Housekeeping Responsibilities:

• Clean, dust, wash and disinfect all fixtures, floors, doors, ceilings and walls as directed
• Scour and polish water fountains, sinks, mirrors, and glass panels in doors and partitions
• Clean ledges, shelves, vents, windows, window sills, etc.
• Replenish supply of soap and towels in appropriate receptacles
• Maintain organization of cleaning supplies, equipment

Laundry Responsibilities:

• Wash, dry, fold, iron, distribute or deliver linen or residents' clothing
• Sorts laundry by color, fabric, type, etc., pre-soak as appropriate
• Fold and stack dried items in proper order
• Iron items as necessary
• Keep laundry area neat, clean
• Store supplies properly

Housekeeping/Laundry Aide:

• Housekeeping and laundry experience helpful, but will train
• Housekeeping/laundry experience in health care environment preferred
• Must be able to speak, read and understand English
• Must have compassion, tolerance, and understanding of older adults
• Must be physically capable of performing routine duties
• Personable and professional with residents, families and staff
• Maintain confidentiality of all residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA standards
