Job Description
The Job A Field Service Technician (Service Engineer) contributes to the success of Hartwig by keeping our customers' CNC machine tools running at peak operating levels by performing repairs. The customers we serve are in a variety of industries and rely on our team to repair, inspect and troubleshoot their equipment.
Main responsibilities of this full-time role based in Houston include:
- Conducts high quality, efficient and timely repair and installation of CNC machines
- Recommends modifications and improvements to CNC machines, equipment and processes
- Trains and instructs customers on service, repair and proper installation
- Uses software and electrical tools to find damaged work parts and identifies permanent solutions to repair CNC machines and accessories
- Ability to complete necessary tasks in our service software and timecard system on a daily basis
- Traveling to customer sites, usually within 3 hours from home, with occasional overnight travel
The Skills Individuals who ideally fit this role should meet the following qualifications:
- Formal education or training in troubleshooting, repair and installation of CNC Machines preferred
- 4 years of demonstrated mechanical and electrical experience preferred
- Experience repairing CNC machines preferred
- Ability to work independently, a go getter that finds the next customer that needs our help
- Good driving record and valid driver's license to ensure fleet vehicle insurability
