Visit Annapolis and Anne Arundel County is seeking an experienced, part-time (15-20 hours/week) Accountant / Bookkeeper to monitor and manage day-to-day accounting activities. If you are detail-oriented and nonprofit-minded with a head for numbers, we invite you to learn more about this opportunity. This position will play a significant role in the financial operations of this quasi-government organization. This is a hybrid position located in Annapolis, Maryland.

Successful candidates for the position will:

  • Manage and monitor the organization’s day-to-day accounting responsibilities in Quickbooks Online, including AP, AR, expense reports, budget tracking and other GL accounting functions, in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure adherence to financial controls to deliver the highest level of transparency and stewardship of funds and resources
  • Assist in the conversion to a new accounting system (Netsuite)
  • In collaboration with the Director of Finance, assist in tracking of state and federal grants to ensure full compliance and accurate reporting
  • Produce ad-hoc analysis, research, and reports
  • Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or business administration required
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting and reporting, preferably in a non-profit finance environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Quickbooks Online required
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Teams, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook) required
  • Experience with Netsuite preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and communications skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Attention to detail and confidentiality, are a must

Compensation:

  • $25-$30/hour
  • 15-20 hours per week
